Flint Hills Resources Going Solar At West Refinery

Flint Hills Resources Expands Solar Energy Portfolio

Company to Build Second Company-Owned Solar Installation in Texas

Corpus Christi Project to Provide Electricity to Refinery

Flint Hills Resources has announced plans to build a second company-owned solar installation in Texas. The new project will provide electricity to the company's Corpus Christi West refinery, which is located in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Corpus Christi solar installation will be the refinerys second source of on-site power. The first solar installation, which was completed in 2019, has been providing electricity to the refinery since then.

The new solar installation is expected to be completed in 2023. It will have a capacity of 45 megawatts (MW), which is enough to power approximately 14,000 homes.

Flint Hills Resources is investing $53 million in the new solar installation. The project is part of the company's commitment to reducing its environmental impact and increasing its use of renewable energy.

"We are committed to finding ways to reduce our environmental impact and increase our use of renewable energy," said Jeff Lange, president of Flint Hills Resources. "This new solar installation is a significant step in that direction."

The new solar installation will be built by DEPCOM Power, a leading provider of solar energy solutions. DEPCOM recently completed construction of a similar solar project at Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend refinery in Minnesota.

"We are pleased to be working with Flint Hills Resources on this project," said DEPCOM Power CEO Mark Thiesen. "We believe that solar energy is a key part of the future of energy, and we are proud to be helping Flint Hills Resources achieve its renewable energy goals."
