Rio Grande, A Natural Border

A River of Importance

The Rio Grande, known as the Río Bravo del Norte in Mexico, is a significant river in North America. It is the fifth longest river in North America and the 20th longest in the world. The Rio Grande forms the border between the United States and Mexico and is one of the longest rivers in North America, flowing 1,900 miles (3,060 kilometers) from its sources in the Rocky Mountains.

A Hidden Gem

In northern New Mexico, the Rio Grande is a prominent feature of the landscape, despite its often hidden nature. The river meanders through the region, providing water and sustenance to the surrounding communities.
