Lakers Buyout

Lakers Sign Free Agent Spencer Dinwiddie After Trade Deadline

No Blockbuster Trade for Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Lakers were one of the most active teams leading up to the NBA trade deadline, but they ultimately decided against making any major moves. Despite being linked to several big names, the Lakers stood pat and will now look to make a push for the playoffs with their current roster.

Dinwiddie Adds Depth to Lakers' Backcourt

After the trade deadline passed, the Lakers quickly moved to sign free agent guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie was waived by the Toronto Raptors on Thursday and cleared waivers on Saturday, making him a free agent. The Lakers were quick to pounce, and they reportedly signed Dinwiddie to a two-year, $8.8 million deal.

Dinwiddie is a veteran guard who has played for several teams throughout his career. He is a capable scorer and playmaker, and he should provide the Lakers with some much-needed depth in their backcourt. Dinwiddie is expected to make his Lakers debut on Tuesday when they host the Golden State Warriors.
